Twin Blade Dampers

Twin Blade Circular Dampers Trans

Description

The unit comprises a short duct with twin contra-rotating blades. The blades are of ‘tear drop’ section for strength and to create a uniform flow.

Engineering Specification

The damper features large diameter shafts which are welded to the blades. There is therefore no possibility of the blades becoming detached. The operating levers are keyed to the shafts to guarantee linkage alignment.

The shafts turn in sintered phosphor bronze bushes which can be regarded as zero maintenance. In the extremely unlikely event that these need to be changed, they can be replaced without removing the damper from the installation.

The dampers can be supplied with a simple hand operator, ManualGearbox or Electric / Pnuematic Actuation.

Installation

Flow must be onto the straight edge of the blade with the curved edge down-stream. Care must be taken to see that the duct flanges are co-planar so that there is no tendency for the damper frame tobe twisted.

    Maintenance

The damper itself requires virtually no attention, although good house-keeping dictates periodic cleaning. This may be achieved by hosing down, with a high pressure washer if desired. Please see the relevant pages for advice on instrumentation.
